Remove component from shopping cart without removing whole product?

Hello,

I was wondering is it possible to allow the user to remove a component from the shopping cart when at the checkout screen without removing the product?

Eg if I'm selling a PC and there's the option of a screen, can I have it so my customer can remove the screen at checkout?

Any help appreciated.

I do not think this is possible, maybe you would want to pop over to the wish list section and add it there if no one can come up with an answer
