search by variable

Hi,

Is it possible to use the search so that...

1 - the original search function works as normal, but
2 - I can also use another search method (by direct html anchor) so that it only searches a specific variable?

I have a variable 'tags' for each product so that when you click on 'lighting' within the tag list on the product page, it will do a search for all products with the matching tag.

This is working fine as a search through everything, but it would be better if it only matched tags not descriptions etc.

Have you had a look at the advanced users guide, its downloadable from my signature... check for, 'Advanced Search....'.

Hi,

I see how to create the customfile etc but how do you reference that in html? e.g. at the moment I have:

http://www.madmash.com/cgi-bin/ss002...&SS=SearchTerm

How do I make that look through the customsearch2.fil file?

nevermind - had a blond moment. Just added &SN=2 to the string.
