    Georges amazing rip roaring v8 thread

    For everything I ask, I have searched and either found no answers, unsuitable answers, or, more than likely, answers I do not understand.

    So, there.

    I'd like to keep this thread to less than twenty pages as well. If possible.

    Its all based on the executive theme, for now at least.

    First scenario. I'd like to place a larger than normal logo behind the checkout tabs and make it clickable to the site catalog product section page as well. Also add a cheeky image title for the Googley Man to find on his travels.

    There is a thread that I think someone asked for the same but my mate Malcolm gave a scarey reply so thought I'd best ask again.

    No abuse please, I'd be likely to commit murder/suicide/arson or something and it would be your fault.

    Clickable Logo:

    Past all of this instead of the logo layout.

    To get the logo layout code, select the design tab and click on the logo

    <a href="acatalog/index.html">
    <img src="<actinic:variable name="CompanyLogoFileName" />"
    width="<actinic:variable name="CompanyLogoWidth" />"
    height="<actinic:variable name="CompanyLogoHeight" />"
    alt="<actinic:variable name="StoreName" />"
    class="logoimage" /></a>

      Very good. I have managed to get the very interesting blue surround, which I managed to cook up earlier, and still need it squeezed as a background (I think) behind the checkout tab thingys.

        add border="0", like so:

        <a href="acatalog/index.html">
        <img src="<actinic:variable name="CompanyLogoFileName" />"
        width="<actinic:variable name="CompanyLogoWidth" />"
        height="<actinic:variable name="CompanyLogoHeight" />"
        alt="<actinic:variable name="StoreName" />"
        border="0"
        class="logoimage" /></a>

        to lengthen the area for the logo, you need to find the class defining the height and increase that. I think it is 64 or 74 as standard or somet like that, you need to increase that to the height for your logo.

          Its 63, and I have done so. Thanks to your problem solver thread. *tips hat* But as I said it still sits above the cart bits. The effect I need is at Mals http://www.cheapmowers.com/ website.

            Item 2. I need the background colour of the quick search form changed, and replace the actual quick search button by one thats more like the rest of the links on the same nav bar (I assume that can be automated?).

              Why don't you ask him for the layout? I'm sure he'd oblige.

                    lol, nah... thats cheating mate.

                    I should be able to do routine stuff like this myself.

                        Nothing to do with fear of anyone I can assure you. Just more p'ssed off with my own lack of grasp of v8. Why does that make me a pussy? At least I admit to struggling with it, rather than just binning it or changing software.

                          Have you thought of viewing the source code on his site to see how he's doing it? I would have thought it was easier to look and learn than to try and reproduce the effect from scratch.

                            Cos you are acting like a Sheila - period. Where's the old George gone, i want the V7 model back, he had a sense of humour and wasn't all stressed out, this V8 model we got now ain't cutting it for me.

                            It's not a weakness to now know how to design a site or grasp it G., some of us have been doing it for years and still learn each day - don't be so hard on yourself, you've got a successful website which is far better than many others - relax and breathe and smile you miserable git.

                            It took me 6 months to really get comfortable with it!
