    Bug with Discounting (Maybe)

    Hi peeps,
Can someone look at this please

I am trying to set up 2 discounts.
1st - Free accessory (beverage center) when they buy the main product (waterboy)
2nd - Free delivery when they buy the main product (waterboy)

....but there seems to be a problem.

When the quanities are the same for both the accessory and the main product, only 1 discount is applied, but when the quainty for the accessory is lower than the main product both discounts are applied.

I just dont get it.... i have made sure all the tick boxes are ticked correctly, but i am stumped to why it does this.

Maybe someone out there (actinic or others) can put me on the right path, or i have found a bug

    Thanks inadvance
    Paul

P.S. i have attached screen shots to view, and if you need to see what i mean, please goto http://www.waterboy.info and have play adding things to the cart to see what i mean.

The version of actinic i am using is - 8.0.4.0.0.0.GMVA

I found out that if i changed the order in which they are listed in discount options it seems to give a totally different result...

E.G. When qty's are at 1 free delivery is applied, but not the free beverage center. But when qty's are at 2, free delivery is applied but only 1 beverage center is discounted and not 2... all every strange

I have tried to set something up in the shipping tables with weights which is what it is set up to anyway, but i cant seem to do it there either.

    I so stumped....

I only have 1 product group which the waterboy is in, so that is what i use as the trigger - Waterboy = Free UK Delivery & Free Beverage Center.
Its as if for the first qty its only applying 1 discount, and then applies the discount as normal for all other qty's. And i have made sure i haven't ticked the box in the groups that says 'Only Apply One Discount Online for This Group'

I hope i have made myself clear. Even i am starting to get confused lol

The order of the discounts is very important as is being on the latest version of the software really. If you are not on the latest version, we can never say for sure whether you are experiencing a bug or you are experiencing a bug that has been solved in subsequent versions.

Once you are updated, ensure your highest discount is listed first. Actinic will process the discounts until it finds a match and then stop.

When you put the lower discount first, that condition is met and the second option never gets considered.

Right, i have upgraded, what a nightmare that was, but thats a different story...

I have uploaded the site, with the highest discount first e.g. £16.99, then the £8.50 off.... but guess what... its still doing it.

I just dont get it... if the qty's are 1 for both the waterboy and the beverage center then it only applies the discount for the beverage center (£16.99). If you change the qty for the waterboy to 2, then both discounts are applied (£16.99 & £8.50)

You can have a play in the cart to see what i mean.

            Does anyone have any ideas?

I think you need to select 'Only one reward per order', this can be done against the order itself if based on 'Cart Quantity' else go to the 'Miscellaneous' tab and check the appropriate oprtion under 'General'.

              Kind regards,

                Hi Bruce,
I already have 'Only one reward per order' ticked for the free delivery, and not for the free beverage center. So for every waterboy that is sold they will get a free beverage center, and free delivery on there order, regardless how many waterboys they buy in one transaction
It should work, but it doesnt

                  Paul,

You must take this one up with support if you have not already.

                  Kind regards,
