    Delivery charges

Hi. Im using designer and am pulling my hair out with a delivery charges problems.

Im building a site for a printing company using designer.
Many of the products can be bought by selecting the quantity choice (business cards 1000, 2000, 5000, 10000, etc) with set prices to the choices. I need to setup the delivery fee to change depending on how many products they buy.

One of the problems Im having is that the delivery price for 5000 business cards is different to 5000 posters.

    Any suggestions

Ship by weight, much more flexible and 95% of stores can use this to have a far better system in place. The weights don't have to be real, they can be as you want them to be. Don't think of it as "weight", think of it as a flexible system you can manipulate to suit your needs. Each of your products has a weight against it, which has a corresponding value in a shipping table. Actinic totals up all of the weights of the products ordered and looks that total up in a databse to find out the total shipping cost.

What happens if the quantity is selected using a 'choice'? Can the shipping charges tell that a customers havs bought 20,000 items using the drop down 'choice' option or will it recognise it as a single item?

This isn't meant to be bolshy or anything, but if you do a search on "Delivery charges" on the forum you'll find a whole heap of posts that may prove useful to you. If you spend a bit of time looking through them you can decide which way you want to go, but Lee's option certainly seems to be the favourite.
