    Problems loading a snapshot

I have recently upgraded to V8 on my PC and it works fine, but when my colleague imported my snapshot (she runs an identical copy to mine, but just uses it to process sales orders on it), nothing happened! Her V8 was a fresh installation not an upgrade, but the only effect importing my snapshot has is to add the web header, the rest of the catalogue stays exactly the same as the default demo one?

    Anyone come accross this before?

We have tried uninstalling everything and starting from scratch, but same results.

Have you only tried this with one snapshot? Did you compact your databases before taking your snapshot and does it import ok onto your machine?

I have terrible trouble sometimes moving snapshots around between 3 machines (and on 2 different versions) and I do find that occasionally it's a bit hit and miss..

I'd say, compact and do another snapshot and try again... perhaps it's just a "duff" snapshot

Is one in test mode and the other not? i read somewhere that there was a problem if the snapshot got exported when it was in test mode, switch to live then take a new snapshot if it is

Thanks, I have tried compacting and re-sending but same results and both machines are live (not in test mode).

I am having to send the snapshot via skype however, so maybe thats whats causing the problem?

Even the network settings failed to import, yet she gets no error message and everything apears to be there in the site 1 folder.

Skype - sorry hate the thing anyway thats a personal thing

You maybe be better zipping the file and ftp it to the server and do it that way

unlikely, i send snapshots via skype all the time - its easier than email due to isps having limits on attachments sizes and keeps ftp details private

            check business settings options
