Cart quantity changing of its own accord

    Hi,

We seem to have had a problem with cart quantities changing that was bought to my attention today.

Firstly we had a customer order one kit and the cart kept showing he had ordered two, and wouldn't allow him to delete one of them.

Secondly this evening, another customer tried to order a kit and this time the cart showed he had ordered three. He tried it on a second machine and instead of one going in the cart it showed a quantity of two.

This is a copy of the mail he sent to me explaining the problem:

"I have twice tried to use your web site, but on the first occasion it credited me with 3 kits, despite deleteing, going back a page etc.
Using a laptop, (because the main computer still thinks I want 3 kits!) I tried again, guess what, it thinks I want two kits.
I really can only afford one and will phone my order, I think there is a glitch in your software!"

The kits they were trying to order were not the same.

I have since refreshed the whole site and cannot seem to replicate this problem on different computers.

Is this a fault within my copy of Actinic, I upgraded to V8.51 a couple of weeks ago, and everything has appeared fine until this.

Any suggestions would be welcome. The site address is www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk

    Thanks

If it is just one guy i would ignore it personally, it's as likely to be something corrupted on his PC as anything else. I'd suggest he deleted all cookies and started again. Just make sure you check the site yourself before you delete his email, he may be one of many who experienced the same problem, but the only one who bothered to let you know.

Thank you for checking that for me, I also couldn't replicate the problem, so I was grateful for a second opinion.

For your information the kits that caused the problem were the Fifie Amaranth from the Caldercraft Classic Section http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/...t_classic.html

and the Joffre from the Special offers section http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/...ine_deals.html

I have also had a couple of my regular customers check and they too couldn't find a problem. I suppose I got a bit a worried because of two completely unrelated customers reported a similar fault.

I compacted the database and did a full refresh of the site earlier, and as leehack suggested it may have just been a problem with the users PCs.

Just wanted to double check I hadn't modified something I shouldn't have.

          Many thanks,

          Malcolm
