    Shipping charges

Just noticed that shipping charges are always displayed ex vat

On a retail site where all prices are inc vat should't the shipping charges also be inc vat ?

Does anyone know how to change it to show inc vat as I can see this becomming a problem if you get an awkward customer

and we've all had one or two of those

    UPDATE:

Also noticed that logged in prices are displayed inc vat no matter if I select all prices to be eX vat in setup

Also search prices are also inc vat

Does anyone else have this or is my system not right

    Hi,

For your logged in prices take a look at http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=30577

As for the shipping bit, you will have to select a location for the correct VAT to be charged, hence this usually updates in the cart when you are on the Invoice page. You can choose to 'select location information early' to get around this.

      Thanks for the info bruce

the shipping options that I am talking about is on checkout page 1

at this point the cart already knows if ta should be applied to the shipping charges

my point is that the shipping charges are displayed ex vat, is the anyway to show inc vat or inv vat in a () box

it very confusing to retail customers to think they are paying 1 price for shipping then fine it is actually 17.5% more with the vat on

Ok, thats on a wish list and I will add a vote in for you. Given the current structure it will be difficult to split the VAT to show shipping and the rest as seperate entries in the cart.
