Actinic Section List in external pages

I was just wondering if this is possible - we use Actinic purely for our catalog pages, and then the other info / front pages are created directly in Dreamweaver. Is it possible for those pages to show the Actinic Section List (see here for example of our list http://www.tacklebargains.co.uk/acat...ift_Ideas.html ) without having to do it manually - which is how i do it currently.

I have seen that you can import things into Dreamweaver extensions, but have never tried this.

Any help or ideas would be brilliant.

    Cheers.

Why not invest the time and bring your whole store inside actinic, much better to have one single application handling your website, plus you can auto use menus across any page like you want to.

Failing that, upload your store and then copy paste the resulting code into your non-actinic layout.

Nothing on your pages stopping them from being in actinic, make your life easy and get it converted.

Yeah, I totally agree with you on that - we have started a smaller store which does just that. My excuse has always been that because it will take so much initial work, and because other things always crop up, its not been done up to now on that larger site - lame but true!

The copy paste method would do it, but i wasn't sure if there was a more 'elegant' way to do it.

      Cheers for the reply.

Approach it as a whole project and yes looks daunting, although nothing like what you think, so break it down and bring one page in per week, be all in before you know it, nowhere near as bad a job as you think. Just get yourself a decent brochure template before you start, will sail through then.

You can even create a brochure page add a text only fragment and embed your current html into it - thats a 2 minute job at most per page.

that how i did one of my sites, wanted the original DW page to be an actinic brochure page so i could add bestsellers and new products as auto updated

Needs to be done, so you're right - thats the best way to look at it.

            Cheers again.

I think many people convince themselves it's a massive job, when in reality the perceived problem page (often the home page) could be half finished, by the time they written about not doing it cos it's too difficult.

Good ole head down and bit of elbow grease and you'd be amazed what you can do.

Price changes are the classic ones for me. 50 prices need changing, 15 minute job manually doing them, most people would rather struggle for 6 hours getting to grips with excel and hierarchicals. Point it out to them and they laff at themselves - had a client do this yesterday, price changes once every 3 months, 100 max, been struggling with a hierchical for 1.5 days.

Logic and common sense - unbeatable in most fields.
