    Help on layouts

    Hi All,

I'm new to all this but seems far better than ?

Can someone help? Question: on the home page how do I get 3 product images next to each other. The layout options do not allow for this.

    Thanks

If its the site home page, then it's brochure fragment column count.

If its the store home page, then it the column count for section lists.

Click on the picture of a house, then select the layout tab (Page Details - Home Page) and you will see column count for brochure fragments, probably showing Use parent (=1), try changing that to 3 and see what happens.

EDIT - sorry thats for the site home page, but it's the same procedure for the shop home page, just called something slightly different. Select the green wad of dollars, select layout tab, look for setting with column counts included and numbers next to them.

ALSO globally available to set for the site in SETTINGS | SITE OPTIONS. Take a look round in there, you'll be surprised what you can change, control and alter.

OK thanks for that, I've played around and all works great.

Last question about this, on the home page I have 3 images, i.e special offers, these when clicked link through to the prodcut information/buy page.

How do I get these 3 images in a row because I can see no adjustment for columns on the dropdown.

          Thanks

Sounds like the fragment column count previously mentioned i think. Can you provide a url so i can see what you mean, i can give you a definite answer then.

              Fragment and Page Layout Help

OK, I think this is very simple but 6 hours later I'm not getting anywhere.

I'm using the Technical Template, I have the Welcome Info at the top etc and want to put 3 image in a horizontal row underneath, these I will link to a product, the latter I can do.

If I change the columns to 3 from 1, 2 of the images move upwards and force the text to the left. i.e I have the text left, image, image and then below I have the remainding image.

Maybe I'm reading to much into the fragments and page layouts...I'm shure this is simple to do but now I've got a headache.

              Help please

it could be you aretalking about the new products rather than fragments pages 35-37 of the Getting Started PDF

Its just an image or 3 of them in a row and each image links to another page (product page)

Why does everyone go on about products all the time, they are just images.

                      use drewmeaver or frontpage
create a design you like then register with actinic

i presume you just want the middle to have a set of pretty picture in it with links?

                      that how i did it

Insert a text only fragment and give it any old title.

In the text area for the fragment use something like:

                        Code:
                        !!<
                        <a href="http://www.site.com/acatalog/page1.html"><img src="pic1.jpg" alt="Product 1" border="0"/></a>

                        <a href="http://www.site.com/acatalog/page21.html"><img src="pic2.jpg" alt="Product 2" border="0"/></a>

                        <a href="http://www.site.com/acatalog/page3.html"><img src="pic3.jpg" alt="Product 3" border="0"/></a>
                        >!!
that will insert 3 images onto the page with a link to their respective pages. You can close the above line gaps in the code above - I have separated for ease of reading.

You will need to keep the image in the rot of the site1 folder add a copy of the image to the PreviewHTML folder to allow a preview. Add the images to the "additional files" list so they are uploaded to the website.

If your page is in columns already and you need the fragment to span across these use the link provided by Duncan above.
