Designer must be the worst piece of software i know, how many things can it not do properly.
    MS for web designers IMO.

I have one at the moment that works fine. Do a snapshot. Close Actinic. Open Actinic and get a load of coding errors and corrupted Block If's. Re-import the snapshot (having made no changes between) and everything is back to normal again!!

C'mon already .. give us a fighting chance please

        Jo, Lee & Jont,

Can I have a snapshot to check please. I tried this here but have not been able to get designer to do this, maybe because it is Business MS with a site licenced as Designer. I am setting up a seperate machine to test this for you.

        Kind regards,

I'll send you mine....although I'm not sure if it will do it again as its very flakey

could you also fix the inability to run coding errors from the design menu please.

Coding errors stops when looking for actinic.css - which isn't there cos I've got an ext css file defined.

Oh and you could look at why my css file keeps compressing itself too

I've put it in the Pinbrook folder within ChrisD FTP

Abit more info - site in question has 2 overall layouts. one for main pages inc brochure, other for checkout only

coding errors problem has started since adding GA code

At one stage yesterday, same snapshot to 2 PCs, one had coding errors in checkout, the other had coding errors in main pages.

I redid all the GA code in overall layouts and its seems stable again.

I wonder if this is related to comments being stripped in compact mode, as code keep disapearing during snapshot export and import.

                Jo,

Just a small note to update on what is happening...

could you also fix the inability to run coding errors from the design menu please.
Your analysis is spot on, the 'Check Files' routine that runs the coding errors seems to go inot a loop as all it is seeing in the actinic.css is the call to your external css and cannot move forward. I am running this past development.

I wonder if this is related to comments being stripped in compact mode, as code keep disapearing during snapshot export and import.
This could be a possibility, but I have tried it using your case scenario on the initial post as well as sent the snapshot to someone else via skype, retrieved and still no coding errors. I have asked dev to check this too.

                Kind regards,

Does this mean that Business MS is stable until you add a designers licence or do i need to wory about getting these errors if i upgrade to Business MS?
