changing the default '1' in the quantity field

i'm building a new catalog and several of the products have a minimum order quantity of 5.

how can i get the quantity field on the product page set to 5?

one would assume (and we all know what assume does) that if you specify a minimum quantity in the product details that it would be reflected in the quantity field. wouldn't one?

In the products description you click on the details page and change the minmum to say 5

my langauage should have been more explicit.

that is exactly what i DID do. however when doing an offline preview of the page, the quantity is pre-filled with 1, not 5.

The field is filled out by the wrong variable, you need to change it to the correct one.

how foolish of me not to have known that.

I haven't bothered as i could never see it being fixed. Showstoppers go for months, this little thing is cannon fodder. It is arse upwards though i must agree.

Really? I always presumed i wrote in plain easy to understand English. Is that not the case? Explain what you mean, i'll address it if i can.

it was the showstopping, arse upwards cannon fodder that did it!
                  I know what you meant, obviously..but it's like...half-English...half-Lee-ish

                    OK, take 2.

What's the chuffing point of reporting something, when there isn't a 'kin chance they will ever fix it.

For what its worth, i understand your acros, but it might be worth you compiling a thesaurus along with DJ.

I always find it very funny, that people who don't mind having written 2,000 odd posts have an issue with writing out four little words - strange now you think of it huh?

For what it's worth , I don't mind typing things out in full at all.
I'm a chatter by nature though (online chatting, that is) and acronyms are a habit. In chatrooms, things move fast and you need all the acronyms you can get!
MSN isn't so bad but I still use them a lot as everyone I speak to knows what I mean.
They flow automatically when I'm typing, I don't do it consciously but I'm certainly not going to spend time going back to remove them and type in full.

I could post a whole other post in that time

Editted to say.....Where is DJ? He's not been on for a while, has he?

I wouldn't want it changed, i do it myself, i'm a bit more common though with lol, lmao, lmfao, gfy, rtfm, imo, imho etc.

I'd like to see the criteria for having an acronym created though, whats gets a phrase in and what resists it from getting one. I used to work in Telecomms, boy if there is an industry full of acronyms, that is the one.
