stock control does not work for attributes?

Gabe, when you do get a solution to this, please let me know. As you can imagin, as our catalog increases in size and range, we anticipate approaching 15,000 product, inc variations, in the first 18 months, i can see that my solution can become somewhat cumbersom.

I have a service that will generate the hidden products for you, you have to set up the product, component, attributes and choices and then I can do the rest. There is a charge for the service based on the number of products you need converting.

I have a little product, that will be available in beta this week sometime that makes it easy to update stock levels, prices and descriptions for the hidden products. Email me off the board is you would like to know more.

I was interested to read this thread about hidden products. We use this system to maintain stock control on peel off stickers. For instance, we might sell one which has 10 colour choices and we don't want to create 10 separate items for this. However, we've noticed that the 'maximum quantity' field is ignored for hidden products. We use One-Stop Automation (which is great BTW) and it updates the maximum quantity every time someone orders. This prevents anyone buying more than we have on a normal product, but when someone buys one of our hidden products (via a component link) it doesn't work. Only today someone bought 10 stickers when we only had 1, leaving us with a stock quantity of -9. Is this an Actinic limitation or can we get round it?

Hi Jill, its not a solution but it may act as a short term alert to stop customers from ordering more than you have. Create a stock based message to appear next to the product when the stock drops below a given level, say 10. use the following conditions to build the condition. IsStockMonitored Condition and StockLevel

it wont stop the customer ordering more than you have, but at least they will know they are and wont be so PO'd when you tell them.

Hi Gabe, you mention that you stock manage outside Actinic, is that with the Mole End add-in or do you use some other method?
