pricing question

We are currently having an offer where a customer buys one item and they get a bag half price

is their any way i can include the bags price in the total, it only seems to let me apply one price per item, but i would need to add to values of "price" if they select that they want the bag

I can create a new "half price" product such as half price bag

and then create a component within my origional product linking to this "half price product

but this throws up a new issue in that i cannot seem to add my attributes to my origional prouct

please help

Why don't you use product groups for this and the discount system?

If you put all the products that are eligible for the offer with the bag into a product group (Marketing | Product Groups) then in the Discounts area, select the Cart Content tab and create a new discount and base it on Quantity = 1 and select your product group then offer the reward of 50% off extra product then select the product from the list .

Would that work for you?
