files have gone from server and cannnot upload

hi

basically, yesterday, the people who host our company erased the acatalog file from the server by accident when uploading to a new server. i replaced the acatalog file in the public html file on the ftp server but now the site will not upload and when i try compacting the database, it will not let me reopen actinic.

I have repaired the database files, as well as reinstalling actinic and importing a snapshot hat i save prior to this happening but out of ideas. i think the problem lies on the server but unsure what to do. any help would be appreciated. have looked in the AUG but nothing seems to cover this

Sounds like you need to run a network test as well as check folder permissions.

have tried that. the network test passed fine and permissions are all set correctly. real head scratcher!
