Meta Tags only on sub sections ?

    Morning All!
Am i right in thinking that you can only add meta tags to a sub section and not at product level ?
If so, presumably the way forward is to have 1 product per sub section...
is that the norm for actinic users or have I got it wrong.... again :-)

    Thanks

a product (thats the little blue boxen) is not the same as a page.

a section (thats the white box with squiggly bits in it) is actually a html page.

so, its possible to have multiple products per page, or as a much better solution, a single product per page (thats one product per section)

codepath do a plugin for this, so its all automated to save you some work.

so, one prod per section lets you add meta tags 'to the product'.

    sound ok?

Yep, thats super thanks... now this brings me onto another !!!
I've now got a section, with 6 "sub" sections, each with a product attached.

When I click on a section, I get a horizontal list of the products separated by a horizontal dotted line.

Is it possible for it to display the products, just as in the best sellers list, which is little boxes with a product in each box.
You then click on the product in the box to go to that particular product.

Not sure if that made sense.....

I've had a look at various settings but nothing jumped out at me.

      Thanks

Use the product image as the section image.

Leehack and Pinbrook, thanks both. That has worked a treat..... but... there is always a but !

the product images i use are quite large, so presumably i have to create a thumbnail image for the section page do I ?.

Or.... Is there any way for it to automatically resize the image, like it does on the new products page. ?.
            Thanks

You can specify a width only Nigel and let it resize, but you can get erratic results. I would always recommend creating your own images, for starters you want them all sized identically (width + height) otherwise it will look junk. Create a sub folder called, section images, put the images into there and point the sections to the correct images.

I was afraid you were going to say that.

I initially thought... right.. get all the stuff in the shop, on the net.
How difficult can it be... a few taps here and there and bosh...
ah well... the real world eh !
It'll look good in the end though.

I wish i had shares in tesco's value coffee !

                Cheers for that Sir.

LOL Nigel if it was that easy everyone would be doing it and there would be no profit for anyone.
