I received the following message from google:
When we tested a sample of the URLs from your Sitemap, we found that some URLs were not accessible to Googlebot because they contained too many redirects. Please change the URLs in your Sitemap that redirect and replace them with the destination URL (the redirect target). All valid URLs will still be submitted.
Can anyone translate for me

To me Google is telling you the site map you have created is trash

they follow one of the urls on the sitemap and it takes them to a redirect, they want to go direct to a page

How are you creating the sitemap?

I am using Standalone Site Map Generator which has worked fine until recently. the only major change I have made to my site is to introduce the following link: http://wildsidebooks.co.uk/tinc?key=...name=catalogue - which provides a subscription form for catalogues.
Perhaps I should exclude this page in a robots.txt.?
