Component Value not required

Hi I'm having problems in the checkout with components needing a value.
This website sells wigs and they need customers to be able to choose from different colour.
I have used the Component Attribute chose method and my customer likes this way of managing the site. The Problem is the colour choice is given a value of 1 in the checkout and this can be misleading any ideas?
