    Drop-Down Menu to Bypass Sections

    Hiya,

Does anyone know how to have a drop-down menu (preferably in the top horizontal nav bar) to drill down directly to all products of a set colour and bypass the sections.

I currently have several sections of socks, divided into plain, spotted, striped etc, however some people simply want to search for grey socks or red socks & bypass searching through all of the sections. I have got a variable for sock colour.

Other people have touched on it in the forum, but I haven’t found an answer as yet.

    Thanks for any suggestions

assuming that the colours are not dropdowns themselves and are the names of products, then you could manually craft a dropdown box with search strings in it.

the value will have an url that is something you copied and pasted when you searched for something.

i posted a while ago about someone that wanted to have a set of brands i links.

you have an event fire onchange in the list item, that goes to the value of the selected list item.

    easy peasy.

      Hiya,

Thanks for your reply… sorry my knowledge is quite basic!

The colours are not in dropdowns but are in the names of the products. I am a bit lost after that!!

Could you break it down a bit more…. Sorry!

        Hi Lucy,

I have passed this on to development for an answer. I will give you an update as soon as I hear from them.

Development has got back saying that you could have a list of preset search URLs that take the buyer to a list of search results. Anything else would at
least need a PHP script which is outside the scope of support.
