ahref link to file not working

hi ,

Could any one please sort this out.
i have created a fragment and in the general tab i have put in this code in the text field.

!!<<a href="brochure.pdf">Click here to read our catalogue</a>>!!

and then in the link tab ,in the url field i have given the following

brochure.pdf

but when go on to mysite and then i click it does not take me to the brochure.pdf page.and i have the placed the brochure.pdf file in the C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Site1\previewhtml.
could anyone please tell me what is the error with the above?

don think you need to stick it previewhtml just put it in site1 folder and amend the path to ../brochure.pdf

No - as it will be killed once live on the site.

You do not need to use the link tab if adding direct to the text area as HTML. Have you checked for typo on the filename?

and did you add brochure.pdf to your 'additional files'? (in the 'Design' menu)

yea as said i have the brochure.pdf file in both the places,and i have tried taking the link tab of ,but it still gives me the http 404 error .

Is this error only appearing online? If so try manually ftping the file to make sure that it is there!

it worked after i added the file to the addtional files in the design tab as posted by tracey.
