    Actinic and Apple Mac's

    Hey all,

Is there any future of acinic being deployed for the Mac?

i doubt it sir. very much so.

the codebase for actinic is far too entrenched in old windows technologies to hake it easy to port.

however, you can run it under wine, and also under vmware. apple do an virtualisation technology for their os that is capable of running windows xp. you could always look into that.

    homie dont right click.

      Ah ok,

Im thinking of going over to mac as it SO much easier for everything i do.

but the one thing i do a lot of is actinic sites.

ill have to have a look into it.

      Thanks

I use a Mac together with VMware to run any Actinic-y stuff and it works ok. Got fed up using PC's after the fifth re-install of Windows in a single month nearly drove me insane. Comparitively I have *never* (touch wood) had to do the same on a Mac in many years. Still grates having to use Windows to do Actinic stuff but it's the only solution at the moment. Don't bother mucking about with Crossover Office as you can't reliably install Actinic on it.

Of course you could use something platform independent... *cough*

          i have had v6/7/8 running under linux/wine

and v7 running under darwine experimental.

          its not worth the hassle.

Yeh i was thinking the same about using a pc for actinic and a mac for everything else, but i use the "edit in dreamweaver" A LOT! so i dont think it would work, i would end up using my pc all the time.

How did you setup? I have a kubuntu and like to learn more. Linux is far more better. can you advice please?
