    Some filenames conflict.

i am trying to upload my site but i keep getting the following message's
Some filenames conflict. All files being sent to the web site must have unique names. Please check the list of files in Design | Additional Files.

Some of the following files must be renamed before an upload can occur. Once the files are renamed, reselect them in the Actinic.

You had image filenames called the same all landing in the same place online, hence the warnings. Doesn't matter if in sub directories on your desktop, they all end up in one place online so must have unique names.

You have to change the filenames in 2 places.

      1) The filename within Windows
      2) The Product (or Section) image within Actinic.

Actinic is trying to help you, you don't have to upload all of the time to find out where you have messed up. The images it refers to are not included as standard within actinic, so simply reduce the procedure you employed to first put them there, IF you want shot of them. Be aware where they are being used on the site though, you should really go to those locations, delete the image refences first and then delete the actual images.

sorry to sound stupid i am quite new to actinic, i have deleted the image from each product then deleted the product and section, i have also deleted the folder which contain the images from site1, not sure what you mean by delete image refences.

The image file reference is added when you have pointed actinic to use an image, so actinic puts something like:

              productPictures\myimage.jpg

You have a field on each product, section and fragment where you can define the image to use if you want it to use one.

would that be in the "image" in the general tab,

otherwise i am not sure what you mean, i would have thought if you delete a product or section and then purge content this would refresh your content and remove products you no longer need, the product and images i refer to in the posting are still within the site even when i have manualy removed the pictures and deleted the products. what would be the easyiest way to totally get rid of all traces of the products and images (although) i have deleted the products they still seem to be there.

Did you check the Additional Files List?
Also try and compact the database.

Backup your database. Try checking the database in Access for the paths indicated in the error message.

(You don't need to add product images to the Additional Files List)

You must have something wrong, i've probably dealt with 30-40,000 products in actinic and never needed to once do that in access. Have a good think, its pretty certain something will click or you will realise what you've done wrong.

Agreed. As Lee says the intention of searching the database is not to delete them but to check where they are. You should be able to see what field they are in and get a better idea of where in Actinic to look and find the references.

i can see the references in the product list under marketing its showing the deleted products as well as the number (i assume thats what you mean to reference) as to what i have done for this to happen i have no idea i have managed to change other file name as they were duplicated with no problems, also added more products but i have no idea what i could have done for this to happen.
