Check the marketing lists is the last throw of my dice. Switch them off and then back on, see if that cures it, along with a compact database after. Failing that, it's very hard to help blind without the site in front. I'm pretty adamant it is something very simple though.

      Take this example:

      C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Site1\miffy por\blue\2handledmug.jpg
      C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Site1\miffy por\pink\2handledmug.jpg

In Actinic somewhere in two of the brochure/fragment/section/product image fields you have both the above defined.
      e.g. possibly
      ....blue\2handledmug.jpg is a section image
      and
....pink\2handledmug.jpg might be a product image.
(remember products have 3 image fields - main, thumbnail and ext info page image fields)

During upload actinic puts ALL images into the acatalog folder on the server, hence if cannot put 2 files of the same name in the same location (sub-folders on local site are ignored on server)

      You need to either:

      i) Locate in Actinic where these image filenames are specified and change them to point to the same file at the same location
      or
ii) Change the file names in question e.g.

      C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Site1\miffy por\blue\blue2handledmug.jpg
      C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Site1\miffy por\pink\pink2handledmug.jpg

and change in Actinic (or let Actinic error when it cannot find the old filenames)

Doh do i feel like homer simpson

i found out what "I" had done it was no good deleting pictures/products and section, because you will still get the problem is you have the same pictures/products in another section, if that made sense to you in other words i had copy and pasted the same sub-section in another section and forgot to paste as "duplicate" good do i feel like a KLUTZ.

but thankyou for all your help
