Actinic to Sage (Prices not stock)

I know there are tools in order to connect Actinic to Sage so that it updates the stock. Is there however something (or perhaps the same thing) that would link them together in order to change prices?

I am assuming that Actinic Link does all this - and if so, I am using Actinic v8 Business. This has link free with it does it not? Does the free version I have enable me to link to sage?

    Hi Gordon,

    Yes that's correct.

You can download Sage Link from our web site. Use your V8 Business key to license it up.

Sage Link is a two way system. You can import products, stock, sections, prices and discounts from Sage to Actinic then export orders and stock levels back into Sage.

Link is compatible with Accountant, Accountant Plus and Line 50 from V7 onwards.

Toby is right, but i have never managed to get it to work as described though, gave up messing when it decided to overwrite my stock monitoring options and the functionality is limited with regards creating products and importing them into actinic, you still have to add images and the such

Im sure someone will correct me and i am always willing to take advice on how to get it to work but dont expect to find a useful help guide either

        actinic-sage linking across PC's

        Hi Toby,

I use both the actinic-sage links (i.e. both ways) and I want to move sage onto another PC from where the accounts will be undertaken. I can't find anything anywhere explaining how the link will work in this case. The pc's won't be connected via a network so I wonder if there is a way that I can export the orders, stock info etc from actinic into a file to then transfer (via USB stick) into sage and vice versa. I can't use the batch export at all as I need to export the full order details and that only sends over the total order value.

Any help would be much appreciated.
        cheers
        Lesley

          Hi Toby
I don't have Sage yet, but will have Sage 50 soon.
Presumably I can download all the products and associated data into Sage, when I get it?

          Cheers

Actually I'm afraid you use Actinic to Sage Link to import products directly into Sage. You can only import product from Sage to Actinic.

You can however have a go at this work around:

N.B. Link is not yet compatible with Sage 14 2008

            Hi Lesley,

            Sorry I missed this post.

I'm afraid this wont be possible. Link requires access to the Sage ACCDATA folder via a mapped drive or even a VPN (slow).

              Thanks Toby
Shame about the products into Sage part
I'm not familar with the versions - does Sage 50 count as Sage 14 2008?

              Cheers

Thanks Toby - i'll have to think of a work around as it's not practical to have just one pc being used for the 2 main jobs (processing orders via actinic and processing accounts via sage). Maybe Gabriels Actinet could be the answer!

                Cheers

For example you can have Sage Line 50 Financial Controller: V11, V12, V13 (2007) and just launched V14 (2008) which is not compatible at the moment.

Unfortunately, we only get so see 2008 at the same time you do, so it'll take us a couple of months to update our integration and test it etc. We'll announce the update as soon as it's available.

actinic and sage on different PC's

                          Hi Chris,

Thanks for this. I've managed a sort of workaround in that i take a site snapshot of the active site every Friday and then restore it onto actinic on the other PC. I then upload the orders into sage. I've taken out all network info so there's no risk of me uploading the site in error as it won't be used for anything else except exporting orders into sage. It's also another back up of the site (although we have other back up procedures in place as well). It's not ideal so i'll have my better half look into the wireless option (i'm just not very technical).

                          many thanks
                          Lesley
