    Page Width Issues after redesign

    Hi everyone,

Hope you are enjoying the weekend. I have spent the day working on a redesign for my site.

After the redesign the page widths are looking really out. I have done a search on here looking for the answers. There seems to be many ways to adjust the Widths but I cant get what i am looking for.

I want the site widths and positioning to look similar to:
    http://www.albion-europe.com/shop/

    But my page is:
    http://www.masterforge.co.uk/

You can see that the logo image is looking odd with a big gap to its right. The page also resizes to fit screen. I would prefer a fixed width to keep all the text and pics tidy. The Left nav also looks tight and I would like it widened.

I have searched the forum and tried several solutions but they seem not to be doing the job and I dont know what else to do.

Any help or advice is warmly received.

    Thanks
    Leigh Robinson

The layout you want is easily produced and I assure you that all the info you need is in the forum

You want your site to fit on a 1024 screen, you want the right sidebar to be 200 wide and you have an 852 wide image in the centre of the page. You don't need to be einstein or a web designer to see a major stumbling block there.

852 + 200 = ? That's without accounting for padding in the centre OR anything for the left column!

When things go titsup, look at the very very basic stuff, you will often find an answer, don't get too complicated with your thoughts. Either that or stick to what you are good at.

PS - I would also obscure your link to their site, if they are a competitor, last thing you want to do is increase traffic to their site and also let them know you are trying to rip their design off.

After much perseverance I have managed to get the site looking almost perfect:
        http://www.masterforge.co.uk/

Note how the left hand nav is compacted. I am unsure how to make it a better fit. I am thinking in the CSS page there is something?

The brochure pages are set but the catalog is skewiff:

This I am not sure how to change. I think its a little more complicated.

Things are looking much better on the site and I plan to get some more colour pics on there to jazz it up.

Any guidance or reference I would be very grateful for.

Your images in the catalog page are 852 wide - reduce the width of those.
