    vmware Fusion for mac

Has anyone tried using this for Actinic on a mac ? I know parallels works reasonably well, but Fusion does not appear to require an extra OS

    Windows is still required.

the seamless desktop integration is a code trick. it only looks like an os isnt running.

    and also, there's a demo.

if you give good reports, then i'm switching to mac.

Just like Parallels, VMWare requires a guest OS. However, having bought both Paralells and VMWare, I can say for productivity stuff VMWare wins hands-down. Being able to turn the core duo's on and off is a big bonus.

Use Parallels for games, VMWare for grown up stuff.

PS. Don't bother AT ALL with Crossover Office - it's total poop.

the advantage of fusion, is that apps rin natively in the GUI. they dont run in a piddly window.

apps can be in the dock. and they can also access the multicore, and the 16gb ram of the system.

they also have access to the 3d systems on the host, wrapping the directx calls. pretty much making the mac a sweet gaming paltform.
