Embedded video has no sound

Hi all

Ive just uploaded a video to my site (first time ive done this), but I seem to have lost the sound.

The video works fine when viewed from my home computer - but not on my work computer (no sound, but sound is ok on other sites like youtube).

Like I said, this is a bit new to me, so I think i may have made a basic error.

Works for me online. I presume you have some difference between your computers. Make sure you compare similar stream types when trying to find the difference.

I can get the sound to work now, but only through external plug-in speakers. Once I use the computers own speakers it doesnt work (still ok on youtube etc?)

use of proprietary video and sound formats online is punishable by death. i dont have windows media player, nor do i have quicktime. and i never will.

now, stop breaking the internet sir and encode this video to flv (flash video).

there are a few good ones, and some encoders available online.

i'd pretty much head for the same or similar format that youtube uses.

youtube vids play on all modern browsers, and its very likely that the people have the flash runtimes allready installed. if not, both browsers add a very simple mechanism to get it installed as you're on the page.

personally, i simply navigate away as soon as i see an embedded video. lol.
