General Script Error with Shipping

Hi guys..

I recently upgraded to version 8.5.1 pf actinic. The website in question was built about a year ago and we never had any trouble with the shipping until now. If i turn shipping charges off the site works fine, but if i turn it on i get the following error message....

I have searched the forum and found some solutions...

but the solutions do not seem to fix my problem...

I have also tried reloading an earlier version of the shop but no luck. I have purged the shipping and catalog and also the database. I have been wrestling with this problem for a long time now and was hoping someone might have experienced the same problem...

Can you tell me if you upgraded to 8.5.1 using the patch or the full version of the software. There are some issues with the patch and it is generally advised to download the full version and use it to upgrade your v8 site.

I bought the software sometime in 2006... When I installed Vista on my machine i needed to upgrade Actinic in order for it to work. I installed a full off the shelf version (8.5.1). The thing is if i copy an older version of the 'ShipControl' folder into my site folder it works - but only if you have the basis set on weight. I need the basis to be set on quantity, and with this it does not work although the General script error has gone - however the shipping is not even there when you view the site live - very strange indeed!... I have also tried replacing the content of the cgi-folder with the older version but this doesn't seem to help either.

Can you try this please. Go to the Actinic v8 installation directory and open the 'Original' folder, here go into 'Ship Control' and then copy ShippingTemplate.pl and paste it to the 'Ship Control' folder within the specific site folder, replacing the one that is already there. Refresh or update the site and let us know how you get along.

Thanks for that...

I tried it out didn't work... deleted all files off server refreshed.. although the error message has now gone it still won't recognize the shipping costs even though they are correctly specified in actinic. I also tried a 'compact database shipping' but didn't seem to help..

Ok, all I can suggest in this case is to raise a support ticket on this one or if you have a cover contract, call in and member of the team can take a snapshot of the site to pass t development to investigate. I raised a ticket yesterday at 12.30... still waiting for a response....
Unfortunately i don't have cover Just a bit of a bummer that it was working fine before I upgraded... Is it possible to download version 7?

Yes I am having the exact same problem. Through the threads I found I now think the problem is that ShippingTemplate.pl did or did not get overwritten during upload. I tried doing an upload of an earlier version of the file and that didn't work. Where can I get a copy of ShippingTemplate.pl to work with the upgrade?
