Constant Crashing When Using Site Snapshot

Hi Guys

After nearly three days, still no progress from support so I am pitching this into the open for assistance.

Using BMS when trying to take a snapshot, Actinic crashes constantly. This leaves a very large site in a vulnerable position as we cannot back it up (except the database of course). I have taken the steps of backing up HTML, Site folder, DB etc externally but still...

Steps to use the snapshot are standard, FILE | SNAPSHOT | EXPORT

No java exisits in the code whatsoever.

The queer thing is, it only affects this site, not any of the others so I stripped it down to clean layout etc and still crashes.

I am aware of the cop SITE 1 folder, but this is not a stable option.

Usual steps taken, compact db etc.

Any ideas.

Use old snapshots one at a time goig backwards to find out where it went wrong and see if that helps identify the fault

Do you have customer accounts in the site? If so, could you check they all have the 'Invoice Address' field populated for the main contact? This can cause a crash when uploading, so it might be affecting the snapshot as well.

I am not over stressed, just that this store has a large inventory and I cannot deploy to client or protect from any potential issue...

Yup

Plugged in, credit on meter, little blue light shows on the box and YOUTUBE blasting out some tunes to keep me awake!

Can you send me the response you sent in. I will take this up for you and see if I can sort the issue. Drop me a mail and we can discuss. Size of the site and number of sections etc.

What I usually do with problamatic sites creating issues with snapshots is to mark a section as deleted and try making a snapshot, and work through the site. This usually results in finding a problamatic section that is causing the crash. Create a new section and paste the contents of the problamatic section to it, delete the section and then rename the new section to what it should be gets around the issue. If you can upload the 'Site' folder and drop me a link I will take a look at it over the weekend.
