Out of Memory Error - Still Occuring

I am still getting 'out of memory' errors when I have been using Actinic for more than 30 mins or so and adding new products, fragments etc

    This is my set up:

    Vista Ultimate
    4GB RAM
    Dual Core 2.5ghz Processor
    Actinic v8.5.1.0.0.0 HIZA (running designer)

When I get the out of memory error I am running at below 3% cpu utilisation and and less than 35% physical memory used.

It is a pain because you have to cancel changes on the last bit of work done, quit actinic and start again!

Just wondered if anyone else is having this issue?

I know it has been a historic issue, but I thought it had been resolved with the latest releases??

    Thanks
    SG

    Simon,

I haven't had one since the very early days of V8 and am running a very similiar spec to you/same version. It may be worth contacting support and seeing if there is some problem with your database.

thanks - i will - although I would hope it is not an issue with the database - this was a clean install of Actinic onto this PC on Tuesday and have only started building this one site 2 days ago - all standard stuff

I used to run actinic off another PC - but decided to take the plunge and run it on this newer box at the start of the week.

Anyway I will give support a shout to see if they can help

Would still be interested if there are any other folks with this issue and / or have pinpointed it to a conflict with another application of some sort

I have tried shuting down all applications / services / processes other than core windows stuff - to no avail.

Does sound odd if it was a clean install. How many products do you have in the store?

about 75 so far - will be at 150 when completed

Each product has up to 3 fragments (most 2) and I have about 10 brochure pages

Well that certainly shouldn't be causing a problem. Might be worth uninstalling and reinstalling (taking a snapshot first) before contacting Actinic, just in case something hasn't installed properly.
            Cheers

I've had this a couple of times in the last 3-4 days. I will record any further happenings.

yep good point - will try that

it appears to occur most when I am adding fragments

and also have to say it appears to have got worse after the HIZA update I did (wednesday AM) - but this could be just my mind in overdrive as it was happening prior to the update.

Thanks for the pointers so far

Well as a suggestion guys, I don't use fragments withing any products (only on brochure pages), might be a good place to start looking if you also use them in the products George.

Can I ask why not? (not wanting to get off topic) - I just thought using fragments was standard practice for product pages?

Well...basically cause I don't need them. All our product information is stored in the product description field. Depends on what you are trying to do though, what do you put in the fragment?

they are basically variations of a product and the images for that variation - could be a different design, colour, size - i just like the ides of putting this info in fragments rather than the extended info page as you are restricted on number of images without adding code....or messign with combining multiple images in photoshop.

As this is for a client - I am trying to keep the maintenance straightforward as possible.

I don't think I have any outwith brochure pages, only a couple on section pages I think. Theres no way that these should cause such an alarming warning though.

                              Not surprised mind you.
