i just like the ides of putting this info in fragments rather than the extended info page as you are restricted on number of images without adding code....or messign with combining multiple images in photoshop
Simon,
Perfectly resonable and sensible thing to do! No other suggestions sorry, one for Actinic I think.
George,
Actinic does not like you at the moment, does it?!!!!
That may well be true Dave/Tracey, but I'm a little bit confused as to why folk are squealing for v9 when its kinda obvious to a even thicko like me that v8 is far from a finished article...
I think the v8 label needs dropping personally, it's been a pretty junk year and it would be nice to see a new beginning psychologically. Too much crap attached to v8 now, too much has been thrown and too much has stuck for it to recover IMO.
Although 8.5.2 is gonna be a nice surprise i bet, they have either messed up big time and gone back to the drawing board, are incorporating some wowser features or it might well be the last incarnation of v8 and it is finally being tested by the people who use it. Secret testers you're not so secret anymore.
There is a bug related to Vista where an 'Out of Memory' error appears when clicking on fragments and clicking away again. This sounds like the one you are experiencing - and it will be fixed in the next maintenance release.
Last happened yesterday morning. Downloaded all orders, did upload... no problems. Updated also bought items, and updated best sellers list. Uploaded... the `upload indicator` (the bit that runs through what Actinic is doing), disappeared, and obviously the upload didn't continue. Tried again, got the attached error. Compacted then attempted to refresh which also `dissapeared`. Closed catalog. Refreshed again, no issue.
Somethings either not right with our site, or the latest release.
Silly question I know but any timescale on the next maintenance release?
We've re-written some of the code which handles the user-definable variables in 8.5.2 to improve perfomance, so naturally we adon't want to rush it out. Expect a beta version to be out in the next few weeks.

It does sound like a hosting issue (I've had upload boxes disappear before when Actinic fails to connect to the Internet). Also, when the marketing lists change, Actinic will want to upload every page, so it's a bigger upload than normal. You could get Actinic Support to check out your settings if you want to investigate further.
Its not random uploads imho Chris. Regular uploading and refreshing seems to be fine, only after updating the marketing lists. Seems that Actinic prefers a refresh instead of an update. Didn't happen before this latest update (HIZA) either.
i am having the same problems, is was ok untill i start adding fragments more than 3 in one section
i have a sub section for one of my products called broucher and within this section i have 3 fragments just one line of text and a image iam using the link tab in the fragment that links to an external pdf file on my server
