Never trying to stress you out, but it could all be connected to the layout breaking, as you know im no expert, just my observations

Im sure someone here can spot something soon enough, but hey dont worry to much, the site still functions, it will get fixed soon enough, relax for a minute, take a deep breath and close you eyes

It is never as bad as it seems

      ok..updated page now loaded HERE

I'm using the "text and title" fragment layout and the only changes I've made (just compared with factory to check) are that I've removed the padding from the table and I've justified the text.

This is definitely a coffee day ..one more then I'm heading to the office to try to get a connection on the laptop!

      PC is driving me nuts!

I see your point but I don't have any way of connecting the PC to the network if I do that though, Jo.

I don't have a wireless card in the PC so it's always the one connected to the router.

Might give plugging the router into the laptop a try though to see if it gives me a better connection than I usually get on there.
For a brand new laptop, it's troublesome online.

Just means I can't check my website on the 1024 PC monitor then (have temporarily switched the laptop over to a 1024 display but its blurry and its making my eyes go squiffy....ok..that could be the caffeine actually!)

I'm only using one overall layout, Louise.
              My upgraded Act_Primary.
I'm actually not using brochure pages as such..they're all product pages in the main catalog.

What I can't understand is why all the non-product pages are doing this.
I haven't messed with the terms (info.html) layout, for example..so this would indicate the problem must lie in the overall layout, right?

Trouble is..my overall layout looks that blimmin' complicated (and no doubt messy) that I don't even know where to start. My knowledge is too limited, I think.

ok..time to defect to the office.. it's warmer (heating off at home..on in the office building!) and I can get the laptop online then too

Thanks for looking Louise. No doubt I'll be back shortly when I've "commuted" LOL

it's no good. I can't work out what is doing it

My inner layout only uses %ages for widths, no fixed widths, so it should be allowing for the different screen resolutions but it isn't.
There must be something in my code that IE doesn't like (hardly surprising) but I can't work out what.

Dare I submit a support ticket?
Suppose I could call (I do have cover) but it sounds like a dimwit problem to be calling about LOL

If anyone has the time to take a look at it, I'd be hugely appreciative, if not, I truly understand.
I've had it under the scrutiny of the Firebug plug in but it's hard to edit on the fly (haha...no pun intended!) in FF because I can't see the changes in there...because it looks ok already!

ok..I need to pack orders now I've got to the office..then I'll come back to it...again

Well bumpsy, you have just indirectly got me back cos the calendars wouldn't fit through the letterbox, so the postie left a card as i didnt hear him knocking. I found the card about 5 mins after he left it, so ran up the road to try and find him. I haven't been to bed yet so i am a little drowsy and managed to stand on a frickin stone as i tried to find him. This was only made worse by me not having bothered to put my shoes on.

I did find him, but the jog to find him and the subsequent dent i now have in my foot, have finished me for the day.

The thanks all go to you.

Support ticket? If it's not an Actinic problem I don't think they usually offer people assistance with customised templates do they?.

If you haven't fixed it by later I can have another delve into the code, in the middle of building someones template at the moment!

oh dear....ok, I'm trying not to laugh but it really has been one of those days!
sorry, I'll make sure I order shrinkable calendars that fit through your letterbox and then spring back to size again next time.
Actually, I'm impressed they even arrived today!

                        Still your fault though....payback's a b*tch, eh?

fair point. I probably wouldn't have bothered anyway!

thanks Louise but no expectations of assistance here. I will be abusing it at regular intervals during the day so hopefully something will buckle at some point LOL
If not, again, much appreciated, thank you

lucky the pavements weren't wet too.

I've been known to run up the road after the dustbin men in my socks in the rain when i forgot to put the bins out. Of course that was in the days BC (before crocs)

BTW tracey you need a multi port router then you can plug several machines in. Always buy 8 port so you've got redundancy when ports blow

Bumpsy, you have tables with % widths, you have some tables with px widths, you have some tables with a mixture of both. You then have some divs and some CSS too. The upgrade although it looks OK, has added some absolute shite into the code which could really do with a clean up to be honest. The page producing your code could probably be reduced by almost half. There are a number of redundant tags doing nothing.

Although you can mix and match with sizes, try and stick to either % or px as you can end up your own ass at times. Convert to %es and see how that fairs and use 100% as much as possible. Try and use padding to reduce the sizes of a table, don't do 90% centered etc. Well that's what i would do anyway. Its probably easier to see the template than the resultant code.
