V8.5 Coupons %discount and free shipping

Has anyone been able to make a coupon code give a % discount off the cart value and remove the shipping costs? I have a fixed shipping cost

If this isn't possible is there a devious way to add a product called shipping (the shipping value) to every cart except those that have entered the coupon code.

This is how I did it. Not ideal but works in some circumstances.
