Secure Trading callback not working at all

I've looked at the only other post I can find about this, and it seems i have a different problem. I hope someone can help.

My network settings seem to be correct, they are working. We are receiving orders, Paypal callback is working. However, Secure Trading are getting a 404 response from callback.... and so all transactions from them are coming through 'PSP pending'.

The problem has only occured since adding SSL to our checkout and log-in pages. Our web address is in the form http://www.mysite.co.uk, whereas the SSL pages are in the form https://webxx.secure-secure.co.uk/mysite.co.uk - the callback goes to the secure address.

I don't want to take SSL off the customer detail pages - although that would be the easy solution I am not satisfied with that.

I've spoken to Actinic, ST and my web host and no-one seems to have a solution. Is anyone out there technically-minded enough to work out how to solve this problem? Would appreciate anything constructive!

Hosts who insist on setting up an SSL as some complex address like https://webxx.secure-secure.co.uk/mysite.co.uk rather than just the simple https://www.mysite.co.uk have been problematic.

      equals shared SSL

rather than just the simple https://www.mysite.co.uk
      own SSL cert

as louise says share is often problematical, best to have your own dedicated cert

        Thank you

At last an answer I can really understand!

Apparently the shared SSL isn't a problem with other payment providers - clearly not for Paypal - just Secure Trading (they are usually very helpful, but i guess in this instance they probably aren't going to change their systems just to suit me!).

I'm getting back to my web hosts, I didn't realise we had shared SSL...
