Is Paypal Payment Pro working well with Actinic V8?

Just received a mail from Paypal with regard to Paypal Payment Pro (PPP). As I know that forum members have had issues in the past with PPP integration and getting it to work correctly with Actinic. I wanted to get forum members input before believing what has been outlined below!

    From Paypal - 2nd Oct 2007
“I just wanted to quickly get in touch with you to let you know that I have checked with all our technical guys, double checked with our integration team who work closely with Actinic as a partner, and there are no technical issues at all between PayPal Pro and Actinic. The concerns you were reading about on the forum were old teething issues that have already been fixed. They worked through all these bugs in the beginning when they initially did a soft launch, but we have been live with Actinic for a while now so there are no problems with our integration and operation whatsoever.”

My question is: - Does Paypal Payment Pro have any outstanding technical issues working with Actinic V8?

    Regards

We are currently investigating an issue whereby PPP empties the cart upon clicking to pay but other than that, we have deployed this successfully on a few client sites.

So it gets a tentative 7.25 out of 10 from me...I await 8.5.2 to see if the implementation process is streamlined.

I got PPP working without problems on my site; the only issue being that Actinic doesn't pass enough detail through to Paypal so when I look at the paypal statement there's no name/address of the buyer there.

Actually, I like it. I use Paypal for all my eBay activity so it's handy to have all the receipts going to the same place. And it's completely invisible as far as my web site buyers are concerned.

'Course, my site was off-line for several months after I set all this up and only went active again yesterday. Maybe I'd better do a test transaction to see if it still works!

And, hey! it doesn't. Something's gone wrong with the user i.d./password combination. Good thing I checked.

I checked and the last time we used it was in August when we did a virtual terminal transaction. Sometime since then it's stopped working. I find I can't log in to Paypal Manager now so the problem's not in Actinic. It's as if I've forgotten the password but that's unlikely...

Wish I'd thought of this before 4:30; then I could have rung Paypal. I've sent them an email instead.

All of which isn't very helpful to anyone wanting know if PPP works. I promise it did work because I spent some of my own money buying stuff from myself when I set it up. Ahhh... this is just another problem caused by me being forced by certain circumstances to abandon developing this web site just before it was finished. I've lost so much momentum.

Well there you go. In the intervening period I had had my debit card (which was registered as the card for paying the PPP monthly fee) replaced - and of course the number was one digit different from the old one.

Paypal had shut down the account because its last attempt to get its monthly fee had failed. Note that they sent out no reminder, warning or anything else about this and, since I couldn't log in to Paypal Manager any more, there was no way to update the card details.

On the phone, they reactivated the account so I could log in and update the details. Unfortunately, the 'modify card details' screen goes down with in 'internal server error' so I had to ring them again and get them to update the details from their end.

Anyway it's apparently fixed now - so anyone wanting to see PPP in action can try my site and let me know if it works....it's still got the thing going where no name or address details appear in the paypal record but I assume that needs work from Actinic.

We've been using PPP for a couple of weeks now with no problems at all.
