General comment on the use of the Actinic forum

Yep i agree Lee, i was probably referring to peeps I have no prior relationship with and probably after I have replied to their email will not have a future relationship with either.

I have to acknowledge the help i do get from other developers and forum regulars when the going gets tough

I do get abit miffed if I have contributed to a thread and then the thread starter tries to take it off the community with a PM.

This is my real pet hate too, in fact if this did not occur i think the problem would be miniscule.

Well i can't recall you ever having helped me, but the George from the olden days used to make me smile many many times, that in itself is often more beneficial than direct help. Everyone has their place in a community, as long as you are adding something, it's all good in my eyes.

Compounded when you find out they have copy and pasted the exact same email requesting help to other forum members and also never said a word of thanks.

Now perhaps people can see why some of the regulars may sound "rude" on the forum - we do know more about other members than people think and thats why they may be given abrupt answers.

Its all very well saying that the regulars should be more helpfull but when you are being taken for a ride its a different story. Its interesting to note that most of the people that call us rude NEVER provide help to anyone else on the forum - perhaps if they did and had to contend with the results they too may tell a different story.
