    Adwords following popups?

I'm trying to get google adwords to tell me about this but haven't had a response so far.

Adwords assesses the 'quality' of keywords by visiting the site to see what's there that's relevant to the keyword. The help says that this includes following links on the page to other pages.

On my site, the descriptions are mostly in Extended Information popups, which aren't links as such. The question is, does the GA machine 'see' that stuff? I'm guessing not, which means my quality score is going to be lower than it might be.

If this is correct then I'm going to have to put more text in the main section, which is OK but I was kind of liking the clean look.

Unsure of the google adwords approach to pop ups, but as a user, I would want to see info without clicking to open a new window, especially if I had pop ups blocked and did not know how to unblock them?

You can maintain clean whilst retaining muchos info on the pages. I saw a neat tabbed layout that would work fine (norms drillpipe site me thinks).

      Good points Daren.

Mind you, I notice on my Vista machine that if I do an offline preview of my pages IE won't allow the controls for the popups until I've OK'd a warning message. But looking at the live site on the same machine there's no warnings. I hadn't thought about problems other people might have.

On my main machine (a Mac), Safari's 'block popups' preference says

"Selecting this option doesn’t prevent windows from opening when you click a button or a link in a page."

        Thanks Justin

Always pays dividends to test your site with every obsticle in action.

I will have a play later and report back on any issues if you wish.

Do you want me to post them or pm to you?

I'd appreciate that, Daren. Post your thoughts - I can take it....

I'm still loading the site and the laptop bags section is not being promoted at the moment (it's not ready). Check out the ipod docks section, which is being heavily adword promoted and has popup descriptions a'plenty.

No it does not, neither does G so I would create single product pages and keep the popups for images.
