Delivery Charge problems

New question for you experts out there – We are in the process of changing our delivery policy. We want to change the policy to

£49 minimum order.
£5.99 delivery charge per order.
Free Delivery if you spend over £175
Free Delivery and 5% discount if you spend over £250
Free Delivery and 10% discount if you spend over £500

See attachament on what I currently have put in the “Business Settings” - "Shipping and Handling". Is this correct as when I shop online it doesn’t seem to put the delivery charge on? I have also put the necessary discounts in place in the “Discount” sections which works fine. The problem is I can’t get the delivery change to come up on my shopping cart.

Can't seem to upload the attachment - it's on a Word file? I've uploaded it to "Manage Attachement" but i don't know how to load it onto the "Thread" from there?

Open manage attachment, enter the location for the file you want to upload, click on upload, close the window, then at the bottom of the message you must see your file into the zone Additional Options / Attach Files.
If the file size is not too big, it must work !

You can attach doc files as long as they are under 100kb, after you have uploaded, you then click the paperclip and you can insert it.

If you can find me a product that is exactly £49 it will work, otherwise i am not surprised it doesn't work. You force someone to spend £49 and give them free delivery if they spend £49.01?

PS - why on earth do i know your site, has it recently been designed or just about to be?

Many thanks for the reply – In reply, I’m not forcing anyone to purchase our wines but our terms are a minimum order of £49. Basically I want the customer to have the freedom to order any amount of wine they like (most wine websites insist on a 12btls minimum order) so if someone wants to by a few bottles of high priced wine they are not discriminated against and have to by a load more bottles wine they might not want just to make it up to 12btls. Is this going to be a problem to achieve? We are based in Shrewsbury – I see you are quite close so might have heard of us because of that?

I have no problem with what you are doing at all, i did not mean it that way, you can certainly do what you want to here, you have just set it up wrong. As i said your current setup gives free delivery to anyone who spends £49.01 or over, so is working exactly as you have set it up. The tiers in the shipping table are 'up to' values, so up to £49 on your site is £5.99, over that is free -hence you thinking the system is not working, when in fact it is how you have set it up, that is at fault.

Hmm perhaps i am going mad then, i could have sworn i have seen your site in my inbox, maybe you contacted me regarding some work?

PS - there is a specific forum for shipping problems in future.

AHH I see. Sorry if I took your comment the wrong way. Of course stupid me!!! So in actual fact do I need to set the shipping to £174.99 - £5.99. Thanks for that - one of those things that are quite simple really - would have probably taken me three years to get it though!

If shipping costs £5.99 up to £174.99 order value then yes, your shipping should just be be:

£174.99 - £5.99
£175.00 - £0.00

PS - thanks for the voucher offer, but there really is no need.
