Bounce Message

Hi,

looking for how to change the bouce message. Specifically the message displayed when you add a item to your cart that is ticked as NOT VALID in the item permutations.

Currently this is what is displayed: -

[Not Used] We are sorry, the combination you selected cannot be ordered, please select again...

a) what is the [not used] can it get rid of it
b) want to change the message slightly

Have searched the forum but can't see any threads about this.

Using V8.5.1

DESIGN | TEXT is always your first port of call if the text you want to change is not coded directly into the page, you can check on the design tab by selecting the page.

Thats relates to the second half of the message. What about the first part
ie.

[Not Used] We are sorry, the combination you selected cannot be ordered, please select again...

Is that "hard coded" and therefore you can't change it?

Have you searched for it in design | text, there is a search facility. If it is hard coded you can still change it, you just go to the design tab where it is hard coded in and change it.

Hi,

yes I've tried searching the DESIGN / TEXT but it can't find that text.
I can find the Out of Stock message fine but not the one that you get get the item you have selected isn't valid (ie. not ticked as valid in the permutations of the item).

If I can't find the NOT VALID message maybe I can change it so that instead of using the NOT VALID message is uses the OUT OF STOCK message instead (if you understand what I mean).
If I can get it to use this message instead that would meet my needs as well

Any ideas?

but thats not the message that is used when a product is NOT VALID. That is the message used when a product is OUT OF STOCK.

I need to either find the message used when you select and invalid product or make the system use the OUT OF STOCK message instead of the NOT VALID message.

It NOT the "Associated Product Out Of Stock Message" because there is no associated product.

I have to admit I had a look when you first posted and didn't find it.
Might be quicker to raise a support ticket and ask (or call if you have cover)
