    Pick 'n' Mix not possible?

Is it possible to do tick boxes in a pick 'n' mix style? For example you're selling bags of mixed sweets; it's £2.00 a bag and you have a whole list of sweet types from which the buyer can choose 6. The buyer clicks on the ones he/she wants in the bag. (I'm not selling sweets)

Evening Bradders. It's possible with components and attributes. Would this have one product reference for everything?

      Hello Louise!

      'Bradder's? Friends call me 'Aceman'

I'm not sure what you mean by 'product reference'. I'll explain:

I'm selling nuts, bolts, screws etc. but in boxes of 100 or 200, and I know buyers aren't always going to want so many, but they will want 20 of this, 20 of that, 20 of this and that etc. I don't want to put listings up of '20 screws', so I thought I sell a product called for example '8mm Assortment' whereby they can choose what goes in it (being a successful businessman in the making, I 'm very concsious of customer needs you see), and the 'tick box' concept would serve me very well in this respect.

Ahem! Louise? I thought you were dealing with my issues and your little light has gone out, which I'm assuming means you've gone to do something you consider more interesting.

Lol I'm sorry, I'll sit and wait for you.

I see and so how many tick boxes would you have on the page? because a customer might want 40 of some and 60 of another and you'd need list of tick boxes and then rely on the customer ticking the right amount of boxes to make it up to 100 or 200.

Some very valid points there; thank you. I was going to rely on the customer being thoroughly nice and decent and not overticking. I like the drop down list idea, and to get around the quantity issue, I could make all the choices available in each drop down thereby allowing them to double up on a choice, albeit sacrificing a choice in doing so.

Sorry Lou; my 'idea' is what suggested.

I think I'm going to have to go to bed. My cat (see below) took a swipe at my eyeball last night and it's really giving me jip.

I think she wants to work in cat porn when she grows up.

I have an add-on that does this. See http://www.drillpine.biz/v7normatrix..._Products.html for a demo. This is an older V7 site. The V8 version allows you to set a minimum, maximum, modulous or exact total that must be present before Add to Cart is allowed.

Well I ended up in A&E after that run in with the cat. Yes, in hospital after being attacked by a 10 week old kitten. Even now I'm not right; possibly mentally scarred for life.

Louise. your cat is lovely. Not as cute as mine obviously, but very nice all the same. Has a similar sleeping style to mine. It's good of you to hang onto that old sofa just for her to sleep on.

Right, so what's this forum all about?

                              Ooo a cat thread.

Here is our Burmese entering into his mental "I am going to stare at you until you are uncomfortable" mode.
