Product reference on printout

I want the product reference to printed on orders at the beginning of each order line.

I know this can be done as I have it on some sites and not on others, but I can’t remember where I switch it on and off.

do you mean business settings | options | product references?

Isn't that just for catalogue maintenance not for the printouts.

was just trying to pin point where exactly you meant; at checkout, shopping basket, receipt or your order print out.. maybe misreading what you want. long week!

If you uncheck "Auto generate..." where mentioned above that will do the job.
