refresh problems URGENT

hi,
have just made some minor changes and then done refresh, now my checkout isnt working, wont connect when you try to go to checkout.
have done a purge and refresh but no luck
any suggestions.
noone can order anything without my checkout working.

Load a previous snapshot and start the minor changes again is probably your best bet or compare the layouts with the factory versions in design | library.

i have imported a saved snapshot and refreshed from that and all is now ok
but this does not answer why this happened.
i only changed a minor detail on the site, i did not change any settings
so why this happened is beyond me, i just hope it does not happen again.
