I appreciate what people are saying about searching. I have done it, but it's not always so easy and can often leave you more confused, for example I have read threads that, on the surface, appear to deal with my issue, only for them to be about something else. I imagine it's clear when you've become accustomed to all the terminology, but for a newbie/layman isn't always clear.

I did acknowledge that I was being a bit lazy and tried to explain that I am anxious to be getting somewhere with my site, but since Leehack used the phrase 'take the piss' and after seemingly having accused me of being someone else (no idea what he's refering to), it seems to have given everyone the green light to have a pop at me.

D/ Accuse me of using multiple identities

Does the requirement not to upset people not extend to those who offer the assistance too? Some kind of immunity perhaps?

A - You hung yourself here clearly stating you couldn't be bothered to search, look no further than within at the problem here. Maybe a read of the guidelines would serve you well.

B - You lost my respect when you wrote "It's good of you to hang onto that old sofa just for her to sleep on." towards Louise, who incidentally has lifted your lazy backside out of the mire a number of times despite your patronising and sometimes rude comments. You have also directed a few other wise ass comments at forum regulars, which is fine i have no problem with that, but don't cry when you get some of your own medicine.

C - It was suggested if you cannot be bothered to help yourself, then contacting a professional to do it for you would possibly be a good idea. Nobody mentioned tight fisted (only you?). It is clearly stated in the guidelines what this forum is for, abusing the good nature of any of it's members is something i don't see in the list and also something i don't like to see happening.

D - No comment.

Your sarcy and rude comments are not uncommon, you got a bit back - deal with it or move out of your greenhouse.

Lee, it's one thing to suggest more effort on my part, it's quite another to use language such as 'take the piss'. I do like a joke, as I see you do too; and like you, I mean it in good spirits but I don't say things like 'take the piss'. That's no kind of joke. It's just plain rude. Despite that remark I continued to be amicable, only to be met with barbed replies. It went too far. Go back and read it.

Yes. I acknowledged this. I held my hands up and gave an explanation. Only for you to then go on and accuse me of 'taking the forum for a ride'. What do I do? Continue to be amicable no matter what the level of ill treatment?

For someone who likes a joke and is quite sarcastic, you are awfully touchy about such a common saying. For the record, you can replace it with either of the following:

1. Abusing the good nature of some people
2. Designing a website like a gypsy traveller would
3. Take, take, take
4. Taking advantage
5. Taking the michael
etc. etc.

This thread and me are over, delete it and do your first bit of good for the forum.

To imply that an offensive remark is somehow excusable because it's common is just lame. If you have a problem giving help on the forum I wonder why you are here at all.

Think you have now gone way too far with the above comments and you will be very lucky to get help from anyone on the forum.

This forum is a wealth of knowledge to help people in the building of their site(s). For example Malc, Lee and Jo who have responded on this thread have in excess of 18,500 posts between them which is quite frankly amazing and shows their commitment to help people FREE OF CHARGE.

There are also many other highly respected people too numerous to mention who contribute towards this forum with a high number of posts and many many people including me would be lost without them for help and idea's.

Eventually I decided to get some professional help in building my site and perhaps you should consider this route as well. However, you have already limited your options with your comments.
