Crash When Selecting A Section In Content Tree

    OK

Been working through my new site, funny enough from the top of the tree down, everything has been going well until now.

When i click on a section in the content tree actinic immediately crashes, i can click the + button and open the section to show the sub sections but cant select these either. As soon as i do it crashes.

I have searched and found similar problems going back to early versions but nothing the same and i have done all the usual stuff like, compact database, restart computer e.t.c, now these sections work fine online and the products are ok so im leaning towards a database problem.

Can anyone suggest other things to try, i have not looked at it in access yet, dont want to cock everything up

    any help appreciated

Darren - can you nail it back to adding a specific product or section etc? Something may have corrupted and is now killing the site.

I had a similar issue on my main site in being not able to create a new section and then add a product. Actinic support could not resolve so had to roll back the snapshots a day at a time until I found the rogue entry - which was fun

      OK

sorted it now, i took a snapshot, imported it into another copy, deleted and recreated the sections then took a new snapshot back into the laptop.

I think the problem, well it is the only one i can find, was that the custom variables under the properties tab were not created properly, the sections concerned actually did not have them yet all the others did, why actinic never created them in the first place is a mistery (as in misty) to me but hey thats actinic

      thanks

Hey jont i have been in that land for a long time, joys of working on xp and vista installations.

Still has that annoying bug in vista of not showing an icon in the content tree when you hide sections or products. Just a blank space.

But we are getting there, probably why i never get overly stressed with it anymore.
