Can anyone point me in the right direction? I need to wise up on how to go about entering all my prices. Where can I find info on how best to do this? I understand there is a methodology involving Excel. I've done a search but can find no basic guide to the proceedure, honest.

A few options here. I'm guessing that you are looking for an easy way to add and edit products and sections.
Search the help file for hierarchical and flat file import. Decide which one would be better for you.
Click on file | export and export to hierarchical or flat file. Then base your excel sheets on the sample you just created. Alternatively, look in your site1 folder for the common folder. Open it up and "hey presto" there's a few sample import files. Base your import on these.
