I have been given a snapshot of a V7 site that I am currently redesigning in V8. At present, all the products (CD's & DVD's) appear one above another in one huge list in each section.
It would obviously be a lot better if they could simply see a thumbnail of each product with the title, artist, price and add to cart buttons in each section. Each title/thumbnail would then be clickable to view the full product details.
The snapshot that was supplied has extended info for each product (which strangely seems to be the same as the full description?!) which would let me get the desired result with some fairly simple changes. Only thing is, I'm not exactly keen on the idea of manually doing this for the 400+ products within the store. Likewise, manually creating a new section for EVERY product and removing the extended info doesn't exactly sound like a laugh!
Anybody have any quick workarounds for this? I'm guessing there is a way of exporting, modifying and reimporting the product database? Previous experience has shown that a product database exported from Actinic (where each product has been manually added) isn't very easy to work with though...
On the plus side, I could create the required thumbnails with a simple Photoshop batch action but either way, manual section creation will take an age!
As always, any help is very much appreciated.
Cheers
Charlie
