    Component prices not showing

Hi - I have set up hidden products with prices and associated these to main products with component/attribute/choices. Main product settings are to use the name and prices of the associated products, to give a choice of size of item with different prices for each choice - no prices set on the main products but permutations use Associated Product Prices. However, when adding them to the cart, there are no prices showing. Having searched previous posts, I have tried many different ways but nothing is working, even having set to 'sum of component prices'. Descriptions in the cart also show the main product (and no choices) even though Name from Associated Product is ticked. Where am I going wrong? Here's a couple of pages to see:

    Anyone out there?

I have kept the examples given with Actinic as hidden.
So as a test, I 'unhid' the computers section so that it is now showing on the site.

    http://trials.actinic.com/trials/tri...Computers.html

Take a look at the second computer bundle. It also uses associated products and I haven't changed any settings. If you add a 21" monitor which should add 」100 to the price, then add to basket, the same problem occurs. There is NO 」100 added, and only the main dummy product (not the actual product) is listed.

Is this a problem within Actinic or something I have inadvertently changed on the settings somewhere else?!

If I read you correctly you are using associated product permutations and you want each permutation to appear as a separate line in the basket and "total" up correctly?

      You need to make sure:
Your pricing model in "product | General" is "Sum of Product and Components"
Your "Component | General" tab has "Comonent as a separate order line" ticked
      and
Each permutation in "Component | Permutations" should have "Pricing" set to "Associated Product Prices"

There is no problem with Actinic. There are just many different ways to configure the products/choices/basket views.

        Did that already!

        Here is the problem:

This screen shows page online- each choice in the dropdown box is linked to an associated hidden product. Looks good so far (need associated products as need different product references).

Then add to cart and HELP! Only main product title (not choices) is listed and there are NO prices even though prices are in the associated products.

        The aim is that:

        The product is called Procart.
Procart is available in 3 sizes and 3 prices.
        Choice of customer changes price.

        I have:

        - created 3 hidden products with product refs and prices.
        - created a dummy product (no price - with sum of component and product prices)
        - added 1 component with 1 atrribute and 3 choices for size.
        - Component - component as separate order line is ticked.
        - 3 filled permutations have associated products - (actual products hidden above) - pricing is set as associated product prices

Everything as per the instructions and the forums to no avail.
As I also said, the example given with Actinic (computer section) doesn't work either - perhaps I have set up something wrong elsewhere.

I will also upload pictures of my settings.

I have to say it all looks correct, except:
If your main product is a dummy with no value then you should have
"Sum of Component Prices" selected and not "Sum of Product and compon....."

Other than than I cannot see anything obvious. I am assuming that after making these changes you have subsequently uploaded to the test/trial area? It may be worthwhile performing a refresh of the website to ensure all the relevant changes made are being uploaded.

              yes exactly

              Exactly!
Just changed to 'Component Prices' as I had already before!

Put a base price in for the product and make this the cheapest of all the choices. Then for the other choices add the extra that choice will cost on top of the cheapest price you have put in.

                cheapest product = 」10
                choice a = 」0 extra
                choice b = 」5 extra
                choice c = 」10 extra

so add 」5 and 」10 to choices b & c, make sure you have product + components on pricing model and test that see if that works first.

You haven't modded the cart previously to disallow anything such as component names etc and forgotten about it?

Haven't even looked at the cart yet as this is my first bit of cart testing.
Could have inadvertently done something to the cart but cant think of anything.
                  Where could I have done?

which product do i put the base price in (i presume dummy product) and where the extra. Permutation prices cant be changed as use associate product prices.

                        trying different options

                        Important Clue:
the fact that i have now allowed the example Actinic section on my site (hidden before):
                        http://trials.actinic.com/trials/tri...Computers.html

and this doesn't work either (computer choices not added - even with (+」0.00) leads me to believe that there is a piece of code missing elsewhere - yes perhaps in the cart - where?

If you haven't touched the cart i wouldn't expect it to be a problem there, in any case you could revert it to standard layout and confirm that.

In the price field for a product put the cheapest price option, then in the permutations tab for your choices, manually add the extra cost so we can test that part, confirm the extra costs show on the choices in the drop down box and that the base cost also shows on the product layout, then upload and see if that fails also. Make sure you have the correct pricing model too.
