Editing `Online Catalogue` beside the wee house

Thought I'd remove the word `online` by doubleclicking then renaming. This seemed to add Online Catalogue in text (as well as the clickable text link) so edited it back this morning, which, as you can see, has made it worse.

a) how do I get this back to the original text

and

b) surely I can omit the word `online` somehow?

Oh, and you do get a warning from Actinic saying its an unsupported operation... AFTER you have done the deed.

I think I've cured this.

Now to find the StoreName variable to edit.

I'm a little confused on this one, i have always clicked on the house and changed the name in there, if i didn't want the word online in there, i would just remove it from that field. What am i misunderstanding here?

not entirely sure but I was going to wait for G's solution to see if I'd misunderstood what he was trying to do first.

Nothing, its as it says in my original post. Double clicked on the house, deleted `Online` and the space, clicked elsewhere to save it, Actinic said it was an unsupported operation and added some extra text (Online Catalogue) to the header/footer things.

Removed the extra text via the design window, and I think its back to original setting now. Looks like I have to edit the StoreName variable that I cannot find?

You have to edit in the layout options bit, as opposed to the actual wording on the left list.

PS Note to Actinic, if it corrupts stuff, it might be an idea to make it uneditable. (The word beside the bed pic).

I'd suggest you have a non-standard setup there Mr GP, if i ever want to change that name on a standard store, i just click on the wad of dollars and change the name field on the general tab - that's it.

Not sure about that fella, as I harpooned it by changing the actual text as opposed to the general tab where editing is supposed to happen.


G - Breaking working stuff a speciality.

You seem to have a custom breadcrumb trail and that area uses this part, so maybe something going on in that region. You only need to change this on the general tab normally BUT it does have a 20 character limit, so maybe you wanted more and used store name at some stage instead.

It's very odd - I must admit. You are meant to be able to change it in the tree, as well as in the Details panel - and it works on my v8.

As Lee says, there is a fairly strict character limit, and the only place this value gets used really in the online store is in the breadcrumb trail (as you say - it's the 'StoreName' variable which uses this).

If you want to use something else in the breadcrumb trails...

1. Go to 'Design | Library | Layouts' and expand the 'Parent Section Lists'.
2. Choose a list to edit and double-click on it.
3. Click the orange 'Click there to edit list layout settings' text.
4. Click the 'Edit' button next to the 'Start of List' field.
5. Change the 'StoreName' variable to something else.
