Homepage via Dreamweaver

Hi,

I would like to create a splash screen in Dreamweaver and have that as th websites homepage eg www.whatever.co.uk/index.html but whatever i seem to do it always goes back to the Actinic shop home page. Any suggestions would help a very frustrated human.

Splash screens are very dated and only upset visitors with an extra click but if you must have one then deselect the home page in actinic

Or....create your homepage in dreamweaver, insert actinic content and use this as your homepage. Much better from a CMS point of view (and you will benefit from the inbuilt act SEO).

When using a splash screen (a legal requirement for certain website types) ensure you focus in on the content and seo accoringly. If it isn;t any use to your customers/visitors or indeed entices them in, why would they want to add an extra click to view your site?

Not outdated IMHO but need to be used where appropriate for the individual business.

Thanks for the replies. Just a few questions. how do I turn the Homepage off in Actinic? I used to have a website in Actinic version 6 and had a website in front on the shopping site no probs.

Also how do i put Actinic content into a page that I develop in Dreamweaver?

The home page is simple, just select your 'Home' page in the content tree and uncheck the box 'use as website home page'.

Then, as long as you upload an index page, this will then be your home page.

As for the rest, you INSERT ACTINIC CONTENT when you have registered the design into the appropriate areas of the web design.
