    Can I Put A Link On A Sub-Section?

    Hi,

I want to put in a Subsection that when you click on it you go to an extended information page. What it is is a color chart for inks. So I have
a picture (box) that says Color Chart. I want the customer to be able to click on it and it brings up the color chart. If I try to do as a fragment or a product it always ends up at the bottom of all the subsections.

    Thanks,
    Jim

      How do I do that?

I have tried but under "Section" I don't see anywhere to put a link for additional information.

So far, I have just put the subsection underneath my main section. You can actually see it at

          http://www.valleylitho.com/acatalog/...ducts_306.html

I put the Sub-Section under my main section Union Ink Products. I want to be able to click on the Color Chart and go to this link. http://www.unionink.com/colorchart/spc_chart.html

Under section details I just have the name and the image. No description. I don't have anything under Page Settings, Details, Layout or Extended Information. Thing is that I had it working at one time but somehow it got screwed up and I can't remember what I did.

          Thanks,
          Jim

            Okey dokey.

Do you know how to create a new layout for the required area in the design library?

Hi DJ Glad to see we are going this one step at a time.

I was going to butt in but, maybe on my form tonight not a good idea. But if it helps i was thinking about, copying the layout and changing the the new layout to move fragments to the top or have you other ideas?

do not worry, you don't need to

You are aware that this is global and will render your subsection link the same site wide...

Best thing to do before we do anything is to take a snapshot, always take plenty when messing with layouts, actinic can be flakey.

Right now go to your design tab, open the library, now you need to identify the layout you are using and copy it.

let us know when you have done that

I was assuming this was already in place, Dazza....

If this was me, I would be inserting the href under the section link not instead of, or maybe placing it in the nav bar...but it ain't so I am not

                          how goes it anyways?

Not so bad, usual shit, still messing with various captcha on the contact us form, being a bit sticky to implement. Probably need to replace the existing actinic one completely, have tried to munge something, but alas not to be, have had a fully working version but not under my control, someone else gets to there email address, basically collects the info and forwards it, its free so you have to ask why?

anyway back to the topic, how far have we got then?
